Design Sprint takes up time and for some team members 5 days is just a bit too much in a week to be available. Of course a CEO (or other type of decider with mandate) is the one responsible for strategic and budgetary decisions but he/she does not have to be available throughout the whole of the week. Mostly day 1 and 2 are most important and day 5 is testing day.

If needed the 5 day protocol can also be made to work in 4 days. This has been designed, tried and tested by the Google Venture team.

Design Sprint extensions

Also, the Design Sprint protocol has been designed and tested in an online version, using Miro, where team members can participate in the comfort of their homes or offices around the world.

Finally, the Iteration Sprint is a short 2-3 day next steps sprint, shortly after the original Design Sprint. It enables for iterating on the Sprint learnings and adapt prototypes for final testing.
